What is Warcraft Recorder?

Warcraft Recorder is a lightweight, desktop screen recorder application that will automatically save your in-game World of Warcraft content. It has a very intuitive user interface, and is completely free and open source to use!

What can you use Warcraft Recorder for?

In GOATNAP, Warcraft Recorder is being used with increasingly popularity among our raiders. Not only is it good for things like GOATNAP’s most recent videos, but it can also be a useful tool in analyzing your own play.

In the video above, we see our warlock run away from our priest friend, but she just follows because she wants a hug. Unfortunately, that cost the priest her life, and the raid leader didn’t realize it was her fault. In this clip, we can learn that a) our warlock tried to spread away from her but b) he additional time to spread away from her with the debuff to the left.

Going in after you raid to analyze your plays and mistakes is one of the best things you can do as a raider. Luckily, Warcraft Recorder makes that very easy for every raider who is looking to perform better at any level in WoW.

What are other features that Warcraft Recorder offers?

There are a myriad of things you can do with the program. If you plan on recording YouTube content and you don’t want your chat to be shown, Warcraft Recorder also offers a built in chat cover as well. You can choose to track your mouse, have push to talk enabled so you don’t hear any of the annoying background sounds in your video, and will auto delete old videos after you reach a certain data threshold. You can prevent this by utilizing the bookmark function as well!

Who can benefit from Warcraft Recorder?

There is a lot of opportunities to use Warcraft Recorder for different media and reviews. Some people don’t want to stream their play, and Warcraft Recorder would be a great option for them. In addition, since it only records the encounter, you never have to weed through a 3 hour video. Instead, you could find a time stamp on your log and go straight to that video!

The interface (above) shows you all of the information you need to reference whatever log you are looking at (below).
